Robert Winston pulled off the highway and into the parking lot of the motel. He had started driving at six that morning, leaving Reno and driving north to the little city of Grand Coulée, Washington. One of many people that were doing almost the same thing around the country. He pulled into the parking spot. There were only a few cars in the lot, and sign by the road said there were vacancies so it seemed like a good place to stop. He could hear the water of the Columbia River rushing over the dam and could see the reflection of the high voltage wires that left the dam in the reflection of all of the lights along the dam. Getting out of the car he went into the office and asked for a room for the night. Once he had gotten into the room, he kicked off his shoes and laid down on the bed. This was his second trip to Grand Coulée. His first had been a recon trip to see if this were a viable location for action. He had convinced the leaders of The Dawn Patrol that it was. Now he just had to do the recon to figure out how to take action.
