Samantha backed the van into the garage it was normally stored in. She had driven the van from the camp ground to the north all the way home, on the freeway even. Rebecca had ridden shotgun and Michelle had sat at the table in the back working on something for work. Occasionally she'd mutter to her self and grumble but it was largely like she wasn't back there. That's how focused she was on whatever it was she was doing. Samantha set the parking break and shut off the engine. "Very well done," Rebecca unbuckled her seat belt and smiled at her daughter. Adopting the child at 14 had been one of the best decisions of Michelle and Rebecca's lives. Of course they had adopted her because she identified as transgender. When most of the prospective foster parents heard that they ran. Despite the manners the girl had, her previous foster family had attempted conversion therapy on the child, as they were devout Christians and thought that being transgender meant that one was living in sin and that God wanted someone to be male or female. Of course that wasn't exactly true, as transgender people existed. "Mom," Samantha stood and walked into the back of the van. "We're home..." Michelle looked up and then out the window. "I guess we are..." Michelle looked at her laptop, closed it, and placed it back in her bag and stood up. Samantha opened the door and went to step out and just sort of crumpled into a heap, hitting the concrete floor with a thump. "Oh, Shit..." Michelle said, attempting to exit the van and not step on her daughter. "What's going---" Rebecca said, turning her head. "Shit... Get the watch!" Samantha had been down for about fifteen seconds before the watch started it's count down to calling the list that would get called if she were to fall down and knock her self unconscious like she had apparently done. Rebecca made it to the watch first and told it that Samantha was okay. Rebecca picked Samantha up and moved her so that Michelle could get out of the van. Once Michelle was out of the van, she lifted Samantha's left arm and looked at the watch. "Heart rate is coming down from 150..." Michelle said, glancing up at Rebecca. "What'd she hit on the way down?" Rebecca asked, stretching the girl out on the floor. It wasn't the cleanest or the warmest, but it was the best thing right now. "Nothing..." Michelle said. "She took a step and then crumpled to the ground." Samantha's eyes fluttered open. "Ow" Samantha said, "It happened again, didn't it..." "It did..." Rebecca said. "You gonna be good if we help you up and into the house and on the couch?"Rachel and Michelle both held out their hands to help Samantha into a seated position "Yeah," Samantha said, taking the hands of both of her mothers. They gently pulled her into a seated position and then, slowly, into a standing position. "What about unloading the van?" "We can get it..." Michelle said. "Let's get you in and on the couch..." Michelle and Rebecca helped Samantha up and into the house. Once they had her on the couch, They went out and finished unloading the van. There was very little food left in the van because after having done this for a while, they knew exactly how much they needed. It was mainly the laptop bags and clothing that needed to come into the house. Before they had broken camp they had stowed everything and all that really had to happen was the three backpacks be brought in. Chargers for the phones and watches remained in the van as there was a set of cables that had been purchased for the van.
