Michelle noticed a new entry in the system known as WebEOC. It was from John Knowlton, the head of the regional office in Spokane. She skimmed it. "Hey Madeline..." Michelle said. "Yes, Ma'am," Madeline said. "Did you see this report from John in Spokane?" Michelle asked. "Uh..." Madeline said. "I'll follow up with the BPA. This sounds like an anomaly, not intentional." "Thank you." Michelle said. She fired a message off to Zoe about the mesage that they had received from the Spokane office. Zoe responded that she would like to be kept updated as to waht was going on. Michelle stood, and walked toward the cafeteria so she could get some more tea. It had been a few long days and they wern't going to get any shorter. She sent a text to Rebecca "Plan to head to EMA as early as tomorrow. Things rapidly changing. Has been one attack, possibly a trial run, not sure. Will advise soonest. Order pizza for dinner..." Michelle had not been home long enough to do anything but sleep in the last week; and a few nights she hadn't even done that. She'd crashed in her office. It had been a week of long nights and longer days. While she was making her tea she grabbed a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon, and carried it to her desk in the Operations Center. She scanned the main board and looked at the large screens in the front of the room. Her desk was in the back so that, as the Operations Section Chief, she could see the whole room and the screens. One of the screens was split into quadrants, each showing a feed from one of the the local News stations and a feed from CNN. So far no one had picked up on the enhanced activity at the Emergency Operations Center. That was just as well; most people had no idea what the threats that the various agencies stopped were, and if they did the stores would be bare already. Her desk phone rang so she answered it. "Ops Desk, Michelle" she said cradling it between her shoulder and ear. She took a swig of tea and washed down the bite of eggs she had been working on. "It's Brian back in the watch office, come in here really quickly." He said. "On my way..." Michelle picked up her plate and ate as she walked down the steps of the raised platform and toward the watch office.
