"John, Where do we stand?" Michelle asked. She was the acting Emergency Operations Center Manager as well as the Operations Chief. She heard John Knowlton shuffle paper. "Uh, We've supplemented BPA's security with Washington State Patrol units and we've increased security in and around the dam. The Army Corp of Engineers folks weren't happy that it wasn't their guys, but I don't have the authority to do that... WSP has also run every tag in the area and has made notes of the ones that are from out of town. I think there is a total of fifty and I'm getting updates if they move." John said. "In addition, we are conducting aerial surveillance on everything in a ten square mile radius from the dam. Since we're using WSP's aircraft, We should be able to get you guys over there a feed of what the choppers can see." "okay," Michelle said, looking at a Lieutenant with the Washington State Patrol that was sitting across from her at the conference table. "Lieutenant, Make sure your people have been authorized to use what ever force is necessary to defend any installation that is vital to the national power grid... That comes from the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. What else are we doing to prepare for an attack?" "Yes, Ma'am." The Lieutenant said, "We've stepped up patrols on the freeways, have officers pulling twelve hour shifts so we have more eyes out there and are paying close attention to power infrastructure. Our one concern is that we've got the target wrong, and we have all of our eggs in the wrong basket." "We're going off of the intel that we're getting from Washington DC." Michelle said. "That's the only thing I can tell you. They've got at least four times the number of people we do looking at this."
