Chapter 1: Signals from the Dark
The Trientalis slowly settled into a parking orbit around a planet that was tinged red and located in the fourth orbital ring around a central star.. According to the charts that Rosalie Betturium, Eighth Bloom were looking at, This planet orbited a star named Sol, and this planet was named 'Mars'. She had used the scanners on the Trientalis and scanned the planet and had only found some random mechanical objects
"Scans show no life forms on this planet," Licanrope Pervalis, First Bloom said, looking up from a console. "Are we sure this is where that signal was headed?"
"Based on what the computers figured, it was here or close to it, but the only thing we've picked up is..." A vine motioned toward a display that showed gibberish. "That..."
"I'm sure that means something," Protes Ophrita, Fourth Bloom replied. "To someone, just not us."
"It almost looks like it could be some kind of telemetry" Licanrope was staring at the characters, trying to discern their meaning. "I think that craft that we saw was transmitting something similar." A second holographic screen appeared next to the data that was coming from the surface of the planet. The received data looked similar to the data that had been captured from the craft they originally found.
As a forward scout vessel, the Trientalis was, as usual, operating on their own, just going around, gathering intelligence and sending it back toward the Affini controlled space. "Let's just hang out here and see what we can pick up. This seems like it's a datasteam from a cubeship or similar. Whatever specices this is, they can get things to space."
A door in the back of the control room slid quietly open and three little furry creatures that resembled bunnies came bounding in.
