Alex woke to a phone making noise. He could tell that it wasn’t his own phone, but he reached over and picked up a phone off the night stand. It was Lee’s phone that was making noise. Maxwell had texted Lee. “Hey, Muhammad says you’ve not made the drop yet. What’s going on?” Alex hit the button on his phone to wake it and dialed Delaney.
“Hello?” He asked, clearly not awake yet.
“It’s Thompson,” Alex said sitting up in the bed. “I want you to see about tracking down a number to what carrier and where it is.”
“Ok,” Delaney said. “I’m ready to copy.”
“Five One three, five five five, seven three nine four...” Alex said. “It was a text from Maxwell saying that Muhammad said that Lee hadn’t made the drop yet. He’s wondering where Lee is and where the goods are would be my guess.”
“Right...” Delaney said, more awake than he had been. “You gonna be up for a bit? I’m gonna start working on this now. The second that this Maxwell character realizes the game is up he’s gonna ditch that phone.”
“Yeah,” Alex said. “I’ll be up. Let me know what you find out.”
“Will do, sarge.” Delaney said. There was a beep as the call disconnected.
