Alex awoke to the alarm clock, just like he did every morning. He stretched and walked over to the master bathroom, and brushed his teeth. Lilly was still sleeping in the bed; she wouldn’t start waking up for another hour yet. Alex pulled out a fresh diaper for her and sat it on the counter in the bathroom. Entering the closet, he grabbed a polo and slacks rather than his normal attire of a suit. He wanted something he could move easily in just in case he had to take off running after someone today... He left the bedroom and wandered into the kitchen, putting a pod in the coffee maker and making himself a cup of coffee. He let it finish brewing and then stood by the back door, looking out into the woods behind the house. There were three deer in the back yard. Alex heard footsteps behind him. He looked and saw Samantha waddling her way toward him. He recognized the waddle as the ‘I’m wet waddle’.

“Good morning...” She said still sounding half asleep. “May I get some coffee?”

“You may,” Alex said, taking a sip of his own coffee. “You don’t look like you’ve slept very well...”

“I didn’t,” Samantha admitted, yawning. “My brain kept thinking about how this could go wrong...”

“You’re going to be wearing a wire so we can hear everything,” Alex said wrapping his arm around her shoulders. “You’re gonna have a panic button, I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”

“Ok,” she said, sipping her own coffee. “I’m going to go take a quick shower and then get dressed.”

“Ok,” Alex smiled at her and then watched her waddle away.

“So you’ve made up your mind on her helping?” Lilly said, suddenly appearing in the doorway.

“Yeah...” Alex said, taking another sip of his coffee. “I think she will blend better than Jenny from Vice... I mean Jenny’s young, only twenty three or something like that, but I don’t think we could make her pass for a high schooler.”

“Keep her safe,” Lilly said, yawning herself. “I’ve grown rather attached to her...”

“I will...” Alex said, giving Lilly a kiss. “I consider both of the girls to be our daughters now... I’m going to protect both of them. Once Samantha is out of the shower you should go take your shower.”

Lilly rolled her eyes at Alex. “Yes daddy...” she said, her tone sarcastic.
